DESCRIPTION:

Fiberglass is used to make Whitepost. In the case of indirect restorations, the Whitepost, a post made of fibreglass composite and high-strength epoxy resin, acts as intraradicular reinforcement of the tooth structure and encourages retention for the final restorative or core build-up material. It is offered in versions DC and DC – E. Whitepost DC – E (Special) differs from the DC version in that the cervical region is thicker while maintaining the same apical diameter. It provides greater strength for teeth with broader canals or cases where there is less coronary part still present.

Indications:

The need to restore an endodontically treated tooth in order to aid in the retention of the restorative material and distribute stresses placed on the tooth is directly related to the indication of an intraradicular fibreglass post.

It is advised to place an intraradicular post to reinforce the coronal portion of a tooth if it has suffered significant coronal destruction from caries, trauma, or extensive restoration in order to reduce the likelihood of fracture. Due to its great capacity for light transmission, it can be utilised with both dual-curing and light-curing adhesive systems.
