DESCRIPTION:

A fibreglass post is known as whitepost. In the case of indirect restorations, Whitepost, a post constructed of fibreglass composite and high-strength epoxy resin, acts as intraradicular reinforcement of the tooth structure and helps the core build-up material or definitive restorative material remain in place. The DC and DC – E variants are both offered. The difference between Whitepost DC – E (Special) and the DC variant is that it has a thicker cervical region despite having the same apical diameter. When there is less coronary tissue left or when the canals on the teeth are bigger, it offers additional strength.

Indications:

The requirement to repair an endodontically treated tooth in order to aid in the preservation of the restorative material and distribute forces placed on the tooth is directly related to the suggestion of an intraradicular fibreglass post.
It is advised to place an intraradicular post to support the coronal region of a tooth if it has suffered considerable coronal destruction from caries, trauma, or extensive restoration in order to reduce the likelihood of fracture. Due to its great capacity for light transmission, it can be utilised with both dual-curing and light-curing adhesive systems.
