Description:
Dentsply ISO Color-Coded 2% Gutta Percha Points represent a cornerstone in endodontic obturation, offering dental professionals a reliable and meticulously crafted solution for sealing root canals. These sterile gutta-percha points, conforming to ISO standards, feature a 2% taper, ensuring precise adaptation and a secure seal during the obturation process.
Key Features:
- ISO Color Coding for Easy Identification: The gutta-percha points adhere to ISO color-coded standards, simplifying the identification of sizes during endodontic procedures. This visual cue enhances workflow efficiency, allowing for quick and accurate selection.
- 2% Taper for Optimal Adaptation: Crafted with a precise 2% taper, these gutta-percha points offer optimal adaptation to root canal walls. The taper ensures a snug fit, minimizing the risk of voids and promoting a reliable seal for successful obturation.
- Sterile and Consistent: Dentsply Gutta Percha Points are individually sterilized, maintaining consistent sterility. Each point is securely packaged to preserve its integrity, providing a reliable and hygienic tool for endodontic practitioners.
Benefits:
- Accurate Size Selection with ISO Color Coding: The ISO color-coded system facilitates accurate size selection, allowing dental professionals to quickly identify and use the appropriate gutta-percha point. This feature contributes to precision in obturation procedures.
- Optimal Adaptation for Secure Sealing: The 2% taper ensures optimal adaptation to root canal walls, promoting a secure seal. This feature is crucial for preventing leakage and enhancing the success of root canal treatments by minimizing the potential for bacterial ingress.
- Consistent Sterility for Infection Control: The sterile packaging and adherence to ISO standards prioritize infection control. Dentsply Gutta Percha Points provide a consistent and sterile tool, supporting practitioners in maintaining a clean and hygienic clinical environment.

Direction To Use:
- Prepare the root canal:
- Clean and shape the root canal using standard endodontic techniques.
- Remove the smear layer if desired, as gutta-percha can penetrate dentinal tubules better without it.
Soften the gutta-percha:
- Use a heat source to warm the gutta-percha. Electrically heated spreaders or specially designed heat carriers are recommended for this purpose.
- Ensure that the instruments are only gently warmed to avoid melting the gutta-percha.
Lateral compaction:
- Select a gutta-percha cone of appropriate size and taper.
- Fit the cone into the canal carefully, ensuring a snug fit.
- Use the sharp tip of the heat carrier instrument to laterally compact the softened gutta-percha against the canal walls.
- Apply gentle pressure and work the instrument back and forth to achieve compaction.
- Repeat this process with additional gutta-percha cones as necessary, gradually building up the root filling.
Vertical compaction (optional):
- If desired, use the blunt plugger tip of the heat carrier instrument for limited vertical compaction of the softened gutta-percha in the apical portion of the canal.
- Apply a continuous wave of heat to soften and down pack a gutta-percha cone, achieving a well-compacted obturation in the apical area.
- Additional increments of gutta-percha can be added if needed to fill the remaining portion of the canal.
Complete the obturation:
- Once the desired level of gutta-percha compaction is achieved, remove any excess gutta-percha.
- Clean the canal of any solvents or debris.
- Apply a root canal sealer of your choice.
- Fill the canal completely with a sealer using a suitable technique (e.g., cold lateral compaction, warm vertical compaction, or other preferred method).
- Ensure proper adaptation of the sealer and gutta-percha to the canal walls.
